Let's Make a Date
Hello,
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post on Baristanet. Over the past few days, I've received so many emails from other working moms who would like to meet on a weekend somewhere either free or low-cost.
I love the idea of meeting at a Montclair park, but weather may be an issue. I'm relatively new to Montclair and would welcome ideas about where to meet, what time, and what date/day of the week. Personally, I can only do Saturdays or Sundays, not weekdays at all, but I'm pretty flexible about times on the weekends. Anyplace other than a park should be a destination where we can bring young ones & strollers along without hassle.
Any suggestions?
Please post below and we'll arrange a date when a majority of us can meet.
Although this started as a group for Moms who work, I certainly don't want to exclude the stay-at-home mothers who may also want to come along--you are also welcome.
I started some separate threads for other Mommy topics...

Brookdale Park sounds like a plan to me...but April 8th I have a wedding. Is April 9th an option?

Hi! I stumbled across your post on the Montclair Watercooler and love the idea of getting together with other working moms.
I have a 2 1/2 year old son and 11 month old daughter.
April 9th should work for me - how about we all meet by the baby swings (only one set of those there so hopefully we'll all end up in the same place.) :)

How about an outing at the Orange Kangaroo on Bloomfield. It's a perfect place to let kids play with arts & crafts, and parents hang out and drink coffee...good alternative until Brookdale is more viable. Thanks for organizing! The 10:00am friday group made me insane!!!

hi - Not sure how to use a Blog, but i have a 15 month old daughter, and we do Aardvarks on Saturday mornings, but we love playdates. I work all week, and treasure seeing Hailey play. we acutally started a playgroup on Wednesday mornings at about 8:15a if anyone is interested.

I really like the idea of the library as a back-up or maybe an alternate location. I've only been there once and was pretty impressed!

Hello,
I love the idea of a working mom's playgroup. I was beginning to feel left. I have a full time gig and a 4yr old son (soon to be 5). I would love to participate in a group like this. Are there any other moms in this group with children around this age? If not, do you know of any other playgroups that could meet my criteria?

Hi all,
I can't believe me and my daughter (2.5 yrs old) missed the get-together at the park. And I had it so visibly marked on the calendar too! (we slept in!)
I hope there will be other get-togethers now that the weather seems to be cooperating!

This is such a great idea! I'm sorry I'm "late to the party", but would love to meet some working moms in town!
I moved here from NYC in July and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I'm also expecting #2 this summer. I still commute into the city and work full time. Glad to know I'm not the only one..
Great to "meet" you all here.
